Hello from Mumbo

Some of you have been asking how Mumbo is getting on. He´s had a busy few weeks and is having a rest this weekend, so he´d like me to let you know that he´s settling in very well. He is proving to be a very popular hit with the kids! At the Wawa Wasi he´s now known as Bimbo, but he´s coping with that. Here are a few photos of Mumbo at work ...

Hi Hazel!
Just been catching up with your blog - fantastic photos: it's amazing that with so much poverty, that everyone has great big grins on their faces. That, I guess, is what is great about human nature.
Keep smiling! Love, Rx

I always said you were a natural. Look how they children love you. You're perfect for the job.

Was Mumbo actually being used, or were you gathering data on hand sizes? Or is there any danger he might be mistaken for an ancient Inca deity and become the object of local devotion?

Well, we all knew you were going to do something amazing and those kids' faces say it all. What a powerful experience and it's great to be able to share it with you - I'm very impressed with this blog, compulsive reading! It definitely sounds as though the required 'sense of humour' and 'tolerance of uncertainty' qualities are being put to the test ...

Great pictures Hazel. They give us some idea of what you are up to. A bit of a contrast to Oxford. Love Mum.X
