So for the moment here's a very brief goodbye to Ayacucho. I'm feeling very sad to be leaving - it is an amazing place with lovely people, and I am going to miss it all very much! It's been a great experience and I'm not sure I'm going to really know how I feel about it all until I get home and have time to digest it all ...
Last night was quite moving as some local musicians who we've got to know in one of the restaurants decided to organise a private party to say goodbye to me and Claire - I was very touched! Vilma and her husband were also invited, and Pancho our tour guide too - so there were a lot of goodbyes to deal with - all very hard!
A big thank you to Jori, Roberto & Freddie who organised the party, which was great. They played lots of traditional Peruvian music for us, singing in both Quechua and Spanish - quite a send-off!

Freddie, Jori, and Roberto after a few glasses of champagne, wine, beer ...

I just missed getting a photo of Jori playing this charango with his teeth!
So this is it for a while ... I'll be home on 21st January and am really looking forward to catching up with everyone then! Just let me know when you'd like to meet up for a drink!
